The final exam is 8-11 AM on Thursday December 17th. It's in 1404 Siebel, with overflow into 1105 and 1109 Siebel. To prepare, here is the final from last term and the skills list.

Now is the time to check your final exam schedules, to check for conflicts. Final exam conflicts are regulated by a fairly precise set of rules. Notice that you MUST contact the instructor about any conflict no later than the last day of classes. If you aren't sure which of your two instructors is responsible for offering the conflict exam in your specific case, contact both of us and we'll help figure it out.

Grades for the first midterm are now available on compass. You can collect yours at our office hours on Thursday, or at lecture Friday morning. Here are the model solutions for the first midterm and information on how to interpret your score.


The first midterm will be in class on Wednesday September 30th. No cheat sheets, calculators, etc allowed. (We try to write exams so such assistance isn't needed.) If you have a conflict, need extra time, or the like, please email Margaret ASAP with a brief description of your issue and a summary of your class schedule, so we can start scheduling makeups. Remember to bring your ID to the exam!

To help you study, here is its skills list, the first midterm from last term, and its solutions. Notice that question 1c involves a topic we haven't covered. And, if I remember correctly, last term's exam was hard to finish in the time available, so this term's exam should be slightly shorter.
