The CS 196 honors add-on to 173 will involve several additional homeworks. (There were four last term.) These cover useful topics related to what's covered in the regular course.

If you are interested in taking it, you should do three things:

• Speak to, or email, Margaret, so we know who's doing it.
• Subscribe to the newsgroup class.sp10.cs196-73 (just as for the main class newsgroup.
• Register for the correct section of CS 196. Other CS courses also use the 196 number. The right section is labelled 73.

If you are in LAS and want this course to fulfill the James Scholar requirements, you must fill out some additional paperwork. Speak to the folks in the CS Academic office.
