This page collects together information from periodic e-mails sent to the class.

Midterm 1

Midterm 1 for ECE374B is on Thursday, September 24, held during our normal lecture time in the usual lecture room – CIF 1025 at 0930 hrs.

From E-mail sent to class on 09/20.

Arrive early: Exams are handed out at 0920, so make sure you have yours before 0930 – there is no make-up time if arriving late.
- Exam starts at 0930 and ends at 1045. You may turn in early up to 1030 (no turning in or leaving during the final stretch).
- Bring your student ID for verification and write the exam with a pen.
Reference sheet: You may bring one single-sided, hand-written reference sheet on 8.5” x 11” letter paper, with your NetID legibly written in the top-right corner.
- You may not write on an iPad and print it out.
- Everything else is closed — no calculators, phones, smart watches, AI, or other electronic devices, and no collaboration.

Practice exams: Multiple past exams are available thanks to Prof. Erickson’s archive and Prof. Kani’s archive — please make good use of them.
Coverage: All topics covered up until (and including) 9/16 is fair game for the exam. This includes items that have been released but are not due until exam is over:
- For example, GPS 4 has practice on fooling sets (covered 09/15 in lab) and language transformations (covered 09/09 in lab) but the GPS itself is not due until Oct 1st (to reduce your stress).
It is highly recommend all students finish up to (and including) Question 4.10 on GPS 4 to be prepared.
Quiz 4 and Quiz 3 solutions are now available on course website.
Homework 2 solutions have been released ahead of schedule as per your request.

As reminder that there are no conflict or make-up exams — the lowest of your four exam scores is dropped.
