  1. Introduction
    a. Purpose

To improve upon the design and schematics of the Dance Dance Revolution Board our group designed last semester. The page detailing that project can be found here: Dance Dance Revolution Pad. The improvements we plan on making are detailed below.

    • Reducing cross-resistivity in order to make the board less responsive to inputs.
    • Clean up the electronics to make the board look cleaner and more professional.
      • Such as:
        • Using wire sheaths and wire ties to combine and organize wires.
        • Making the breadboard look a bit more professional.
        • Making a casing for the breadboard and Arduino Leonardo.
        • Better and more consistent soldering of force-sensitive resistors (we broke too many last semester).

  2. Block Diagram and Flow Chart

System Overview: This is our block diagram from our project last semester, but we mainly want to focus and improve upon the functioning of the pressure input made by the player, so that it is more fine tuned to faster and more precise inputs.

  3. Required Materials
    • Machine Shop
    • Wire Sheaths
    • Wire Ties
    • Wire
    • Red LEDs
    • Force-sensitive resistors

  4. Possible Challenges
    • Being able to effectively organize the wires we are using
    • 3D modeling and printing of a case for the breadboard and Arduino
    • Soldering force-sensitive resistors

  5. Future Plans
    • Have it ready to show off by Engineering Open House
    • We also plan on making a game during the second part of the semester, after we are finished with the DDR Board and the Engineering Open House has passed
    • Case for breadboard and Arduino and add lighting effects, if time allows

  6. References
    • None
  7. Ordered Parts List

Proposal 2: Some Sort of Game

We plan on using a high level programming language in order to design a game. We will have more details as the semester progresses, when we are able to finish building on the DDR Board and can focus more on this second project of ours.

Great to have you back! Please upload your block diagram again since it is not showing correctly. It would be cool if you can add some light effects to the board.

Your block diagram is not loading correctly. Please re-upload.

Also, you keep mentioning the word "bus", but it is entirely unclear what you mean by this (purchase a "bus"? what?) Would appreciate some clarification on this.

Since you guys are returning I'm sure you have a good idea as to what you want your project to look like. I would establish some dates that you want a lot of the structural components (casings and whatever you need from the machine shop) to ensure that it doesn't hinder the rest of your great project! Nice work!

Looks great! If force sensors are giving you too much trouble, I'm sure there's alternatives that will work.

Thanks for the feedback! We have changed our original plan to using wire sheaths and wire ties in order to combine wires to the same input/output where needed, in order to create a similar effect to what our idea of an electronic bus would be (hardware that would mix inputs and outputs).
