General information

The exams will be individual take-home exams. That is, do not provide or receive help from anyone for the completion of the exams.

You are allowed to make use of Carroll's textbook "Spacetime and Geometry", of the lecture notes and homework. You are not allowed to use computer algebra programs such as mathematica, maple, matlab, any other textbook, the internet, or any other solutions.

Show your work and explain your steps in order to get full credit. Intermediate steps and reasoning will be marked as well as the final answer.

In case you encounter any technical issues or require clarification of a question, please ask us over Piazza. In addition, on Thursday, 11 March 2021, and on Friday, 7 May 2021, 16:00-17:00pm CDT, Prof. Witek will be online answering questions at the usual zoom link and time of the class. Remember that questions cannot be about an answer or how to solve a problem.

Final exam

The final exam will be a take-home exam taking place on 7-8 May 2021. The exam will become available online at 9am CDT on Friday, 7 May 2021. The completed exam has to be submitted until 21pm CDT on Saturday, 8 May 2021 online via my.physics exam.
Time: Friday, 7 May 2021, 9am CDT until Saturday, 8 May 2021, 21pm CDT.
Exam sheet: The exam will be available at 9am on 7 May 2021
Submission: my.physics exam Deadline: Saturday, 8 May 2021, 21pm CDT.

Midterm exam

The midterm exam will be a take-home exam taking place on 11-12 March 2021. The exam will become available online at 9am CST on Thursday, 11 March 2021. The completed exam has to be submitted until 21pm CST on Friday, 12 March 2021 online via my.physics exam.
Time: Thu, 11 March 2021, 9am CST until Fri, 12 March 2021, 21pm CST.
