The Lectures for the course contain all of the information necessary to do the homework and exams. However, the optional text is an excellent source of additional reading and illustrative examples that you may purchase if you wish.




Once you are registered for this course, there are a few software requirements to consider. This software must be downloaded before you can effectively view and download the homework assignments or listen to the audio clips.

While looking at the lectures, if you see mathematical characters replaced with other text-type characters or boxes, your computer does not have sufficient fonts to display all the mathematical characters. If you choose not to obtain a copy of the Student Version of Mathematica, then MathReader will allow you to view downloaded Optional Mathematica Programs. You can download MathReader from the MathReader Web site.
