Expectations:
Due to the open-ended nature of this course, there are only a few expectations from students (but these are nonetheless important!):
- Attend weekly meetings with CAs consistently - it'll help you stay on track
- Meet all deadlines
- Be respectful to all your peers in discord and any other communications
- Follow all academic integrity rules
Wiki Page/ Weekly Journal:
The ECE 110/120 honors section has a wiki page which will be used by students to report their progress on their project. At the end of each lab, groups should write a brief summary of the work they accomplished and what they intend to work on the following week.
Assignments/Due Dates:
There are a few deadlines that are listed in the tentative schedule shown above. Some of these deadlines are firm and can not be negotiated (i.e. Final Demos, Final Report). However, others can be moved on a case by case basis due to the nature of the design process. The schedule should be viewed as a guideline to keep you on pace to accomplish a great project at the end of the semester.
Final Deliverables:
There are three final deliverables for the end of the Honors Lab. These are:
- A final report
- A project demo video. This video should be 5 mins in length and should:
- Introduce your group
- Introduce your project
- Cover what went well and you did accomplish
- Cover what you didn't complete for your project
- Both the demo and final report linked to your group's wiki page to be publicly accessible
- At least 12 hours of attendance
Students that submit exceptional final projects and deliverables will be selected to do a short 10 minute live demo with ECE 110/120 professors and Honors Lab staff. These demos will occur over finals week with the exact date and time TBA.
