Project Proposal

Statement of Purpose

Nowadays, people care about the air around them and wish to know more about the air quality. We want to know the specific data of the air and make life healthier. This machine can automatically detect the air around it and show the data on the LED screen and the mobile app "Blynk". We plan to make it to be more practical, and the purpose is to detect temperature, humidity, air quality (PM2.5), then presents the data to people.

Background Research

Our group has searched and looked up some air detectors online and found that they have the same principle: use different kinds of sensors and Arduino.

Good air quality is fundamental to our well-being. On average, a person inhales about 14,000 litres of air every day, and the presence of contaminants in this air can adversely affect people’s health. People with pre-existing respiratory and heart conditions, diabetes, the young, and older people are particularly vulnerable. So, we plan to build an intelligent small machine that can help people know what they breath.

Comments:

Interesting idea!  I like the incorporation of multiple sensors, it makes the design flexible and easy to add on to.  Be careful with linking Android to the phone, it can be a tricky process but as long as you have the right controller, definitely doable!
