Awesome idea!  You may be able to buy a flexible whiteboard or whiteboard duct tape and use a setup of servos to control the rotation of the board instead of a conveyer belt to simplify things.  For some reason I'm unable to see your block diagram so please meet with at CA during lab this week to discuss your project more in depth before it's approved.
