Introduction:

We are planning to develop a computer-controlled circuit system for general use. Currently, we are concentrating on implementing simple on-off control for simple electrical devices such as lamps and electrical outlets. The control system is programmable, based on inputs such as time, temperature and lighting. The system features four parts: a central computer used to control the circuit, adapters used to physically control the circuit, sensors used to receive inputs, and signal transmitters and receivers used to communicate with them.

Our first step involves designing the adapter for an electric outlet, which uses a relay to turn open/close circuits given an inferred signal.
