Introduction
We are continuing on our project from last semester. In the last semester, we made a cat feeder with the features such as timed feeding, a user setting interface, amount and timing control, and a real-time camera. However, we used ultrasonic sensor to measure the amount of food in the bowl, which didn't work too well because cat food is little grains that don't have a smooth surface. We would like to find a better sensor for this purpose. We also want to improve the quality of live streaming video. Also, we came up with more ideas of making the feeder more multi-functional and user-friendly. We want to set up a server so that the user can remotely control the feeder and monitor the condition of the pet. We may be able to keep track of some parameter of the pet and create a health profile, so that the user can be 100% sure that the pet is in good shape when he is away from home.
