Textbooks

Text books are optional. Some of the lectures will follow the treatment in some of the chapters in these books.

Prerequisites

Programming, basic probability and statistics.
Students with non-CS background may enroll with the instructor's consent.

Format

The course will comprise instructor's lectures interspersed with student presentations of research papers. Each student will be expected to present one paper in class. A major component of the course will be a research project, with substantial programming requirement in addition to algorithm design, experimentation with biological data, etc.
