Homework 0 must be completed individually. All other homeworks can be completed in a group of up to 3 students. All homework should be submitted via Gradescope. Please sign up using code: 9J4VGV. You may sign up for Gradescope using a different name and an email address that is different from your University of Illinois one, but if you choose to do that, please let us know the ID you are using by filling out this form, otherwise we will not be able to properly assign you a grade. Please make sure to use the same Gradescope name for the duration of the course.
Submissions must be typed, but you may include hand-drawn figures. Make sure these are scanned so that they are clearly legible. We encourage you to use LaTeX for formatting the answer; a sample solution template is available.
No late homeworks will be accepted. Gradescope will stop accepting submissions at 8 p.m. on the due date and we will not accept solutions that are emailed or delivered to us by another means, even if it is at 8:01 p.m. We strongly encourage you to submit some solution before 8 p.m. in case you have some technical difficulties uploading. You are always able to upload another version and we will grade the latest version uploaded. To make up for this strict policy, we will only count the best 24 problems that you submit (out of approximaely 30–36 that we will assign) in your grade.
You may discuss homework with others, as well as consult other sources, such as textbooks and online ones. All external sources of help (outside of the course staff, lecture notes, and textbook) must be clearly cited in your submission. Your solution must be written in your own words.
