If you are interested in taking the summer CS 173 final exam as a proficiency exam, here is some information for you:

• The exam will be on August 8th from 8:00 to 10:00 AM in 0216 Siebel Center. Bring your student ID with you to the exam.
• Email Yipu (ywang298) to let him know that you are taking it so that there will be enough copies of the exam. Do this no later than a week before the exam if possible.
• You cannot take the proficiency exam if you have previously gotten a grade in 173 (or math 213), even if it was an F. You have to re-take the course in this case.
• If you have credit for courses "more advanced" than 173 and similar in topic, you cannot get credit. However, you can still use the proficiency exam to satisfy the major/minor requirement.
• You need to get a C- on the exam to pass. This is usually a 70% but may be lower if exam grades are low.
