Lecture 2

We covered sections 2.1-2.9 of the textbook, plus a bit of high-level introduction to the rest of chapter 2.

Announcements

• If you aren't yet registered, come to the podium at the end of lecture to put your name on the list of folks trying to get in.
• Office hours are now posted on the web site. You can go to anyone's office hour (not just that of your section leader).

Reminders. We'll gradually stop reminding you of the items that happen every week.

• Second moodle reading quiz due 1am on Tuesday, i.e. very late Monday night.
• First mini-homework (also on moodle) due 3pm on Tuesday. Notice unusual schedule for next week, due to the holiday: mini-homework is due Tuesday (not Monday) and there is no long-form homework.
• Enroll in Piazza to get announcements, homework hints, etc.
• Ask any member of the course for the password for piazza and for self-enrollment in moodle (if you aren't yet officially registered).
• Brief discussion sections this week.
