Proficiency exam results have been mailed to everyone who took the exam. If you didn't get yours, contact Margaret (mfleck@illinois.edu) right away.
These pages are largely correct, but small things may still change. (E.g. don't write the midterm dates into your calendar just yet.)
I'm putting start-of-term announcements on this main page. However, once the term gets going, most announcements will go on subpages or on the class newsgroup instead.
The proficiency exam will be held on Saturday August 28th, 2-4pm, in 2405 Siebel. If you are interested in taking it, please email me (Margaret Fleck, mfleck@illinois.edu) so I can figure out how many people to expect (e.g. how many copies of the exam to xerox).
The proficiency exam will be similar to a final exam, but shorter (2 hours). Look at the Exams subpages for previous offerings of 173 (edit the URL to replace fa10 with sp10, fa09, etc) for final exam review materials. Remember that you can't get proficiency credit if you have taken the the course already. Low grades can only be repaired by retaking the class.
