Final Exam: The final exam will take place on Monday, 5/10/2021 8:00am – 11:00pm. It will cover the whole material we studied during the semester.

Just like the midterm, the final exam will be proctored by remote proctors via Zoom using the CBTF service. At the time of the exam proctors will provide you with a link to the exam. You will need to upload your solutions to GradeScope once you finish answering the quesions. The duration of the exam includes the time to download the exam and upload solutions to GradeScope.

The exam is open book and may be taken with the assistance of any printed material associated with the course, including the text, homework, lecture notes, etc.. Calculators are also allowed. Any other electronics, or visiting any website, is not allowed unless is needed for the purpose of downloading the exam, uploading your answers, or for the CBTF service.

Here is link to a sample final exam from a past semester, with the solutions (written by the instructor of the course at the time). This is to give you a hint of the expectations and the length of the exam.

Good luck!!!

In order to address COVID-related issues that students experienced before and during the midterm exam, the model for calculating your final score in this course has changed: if your grade in the final exam is higher than your grade in the midterm exam, then your final grade will only use the final exam score, and its weight will equal to both exams' weight.

Midterm Exam: The Midterm will take place on Tuesday, 3/23/2021 11:00am – 12:20pm. It will cover the material from lectures 1-12 (including Fresnel equations).

The exam will be proctored by remote proctors via Zoom using the CBTF service. At the time of the exam proctors will provide you with a link to the exam. You will need to upload your solutions to GradeScope once you finish answering the quesions – just as you do for homework.

If you have not logged in to the CBTF page please do so as soon as possible and reserve the exam, otherwise you may not be able to take it. The duration of the exam includes the time to download the exam and upload solutions to GradeScope.

The exam is open book and may be taken with the assistance of any printed material associated with the course, including the text, homework, lecture notes, etc.. Calculators are also allowed.
