Topical offerings of technical interest, skills, and knowledge in physics, and its practice, intended to augment the existing curriculum at the intermediate level. Course Information: Approved for Letter and S/U grading. May be repeated in separate terms up to 12 hours if topics vary. Prerequisite: See Class Schedule or departmental course information for topics and prerequisites. For students with sophomore or junior standing.

This is the online component of PHYS 398QIC. STUDENTS UNABLE TO RETURN TO CAMPUS: Students who are unable to return to Campus and are in need of remote instruction should contact the Department of Physics using the following Queue: https://queue.illinois.edu/q/queue/760 for assistance. Quantum Information and Quantum Computing: This course will introduce the field of quantum information and computing to junior-level students of computer science, electrical and computer engineering, physics, etc. It will include discussion of the quantum two-level system, qubits, entanglement, quantum circuits and simple algorithms and quantum measurement. The quantum computing and algorithms discussion will include programming on cloud-based quantum computers. Pre-requisite: PHYS 214
