**Announcements**

- Blank PDF copies of Practice Problems (see Classwork) will be posted in advance to the course website every Thursday
- Blank PDF copies of Problem Sets will be posted in advance to the course website every Thursday
- All assignments will be due at the beginning of class the following Friday
- Solutions will be posted on Friday evenings the week after class
- Paper copies of problem sets will be provided
- Paper copies of practice problems will also be provided, but use of a tablet, etc. to access and complete the practice problems is fine (it's fine for the problem sets, too, as long as you can submit a paper copy)

**Late work**: Late problem sets will not be accepted, but late practice problems will be accepted at minor penalty (docked 10%)

**Exception**: As stated in class, Problem Set 1 and Practice 1 will only be graded and checked, respectively, for completion at the beginning of class on Friday, January 27. The problem sets assigned after, however, will be graded according to the attached syllabus.

**General Information**

Course Description

Supplement to PHYS 211 with a collaborative group learning approach to improving conceptual understanding and problem solving in introductory calculus-based mechanics. Intended for underprepared students who have taken PHYS 100, but other at-risk students will be admitted also. This course is designed to provide extra practice for learning course concepts and functions as a pre-discussion to PHYS211's discussion section.

**Policies**

Course Grade Breakdown

Attendance (i.e., arriving **on time**) will be 10% of the total grade, participation is 20%, completing your practice assignments is worth 30%, and your problem sets are worth 40%, which will be graded for correctness.

Homework due dates

Any practice assignments or problem sets that are not finished by the end of class are due the following Friday. If the in-class work is completed during class, please be sure to notify me before class ends to receive full credit! Late work will not be accepted.
