Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering intended to augment the existing curriculum. See Class Schedule or departmental course information for topics and prerequisites. Course Information: May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary.
Solution of systems of linear and non-linear equations arising in physical models and discrete partial differential equations. Emphasis on the solution of the hyperbolic conservation equations, with applications to single phase and two-phase two-fluid model. Computational techniques and solution methods for hyperbolic equations and Riemann problem, cell-centered and staggered-grid finite volume method, primitive variable formulation, typical boundary conditions.
