Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in engineering intended to augment the existing curriculum. See Class Schedule or college course information for topics and prerequisites. Course Information: Approved for both letter and S/U grading. May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary.
Section Description
This course will introduce the learner to the current risks and threats to an organization?s systems and data, combined with a structured way of addressing the safeguarding of these critical assets. The course also provides a foundation for those new to cybersecurity by delivering the broad-based knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for further study in other specialized cybersecurity courses/fields. Course topics include threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities; Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC); Identity and Access Management (IdAM); physical security; cryptography and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); security engineering; security operations; and security testing.
