Section Description
Modern artificial intelligence workloads are reshaping computer architecture and computing systems. In this course, we will study the development of GPUs, NPUs, domain-specific accelerators, high-bandwidth memory systems, specialized interconnects, and warehouse-scale infrastructure for AI. This course builds on concepts in traditional computer architecture to examine the hardware and systems that enable modern AI, with emphasis on hands-on experimentation, quantitative analysis, and hardware-software co-design. Students complete an open-ended final project exploring a topic in GPU, accelerator, or systems design for AI.
