ECE 498 GR - Principles of Mobile Robotics

See Class Schedule or departmental course information for topics and prerequisites. Course Information: 0 to 4 undergraduate hours. 0 to 4 graduate hours. May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary.

Section Description

The objective of this course is to prepare students in designing and automating aerial and ground robots that operate in harsh, uncertain, and changing field environments. The course will cover three primary aspects of mobile robotics: Perception, Motion Control, and Data Analytics, and bring everything together through labs involving Ground robots and flying Unmanned Aircraft (Drones). Prerequisites: The specific prerequisites are MATH 221, MATH 225, MATH 241, MATH 285 or equivalent. Graduate standing is sufficient to waive prerequisite requirements for graduate students. Other cases will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the instructor. In general, students are expected to have taken introductory differential equations, introduction to probability and statistics, linear algebra, and software programming.
