ECE 210/211 - Labs

Go to main page
Labs (only ECE 210 students):

You will need an ECE 210 lab kit, which you should request starting on January 25th and before February 1, to make sure you receive it on time. You can request it here. Only students registered in ECE 210 can request it, and there is no charge for it. However, if you drop the course, you will have to return it or you will be charged for it.

If you already have an ADALM2000 because you took ECE 110 last semester, you will still need to order the 210 kit but you will not receive an additional ADALM, only the component kit and a larger breadboard.
All students should bring their last semester's kit with you to campus so components like ADALM, breadboard, and wirekit can be reused.

There is more information regarding the lab kits here.

During the week of February 1, the lab time will be used to make sure you know how to set up your workspace/camera/etc. for online exams. Please read our course policies, as well as CBTF policies/instructions/rules before then, and complete the Exam preparation quiz in Compass (available during the week of Jan 25). CBTF polices can be found here and camera positioning here

An introductory Lab 0 plus five laboratory assignments will be given, beginning on February 8.

You MUST attend the lab section you registered for during demo weeks (2nd week of each lab).

Lab 0 will receive no credit, it is meant to familiarize yourself with the ADALM2000 and Scopy. Attendance for lab 0 is optional, but after that, it will be assumed that you are familiar with them and that they work fine.

Labs 1-5 will cover two weeks.
Attendance during the first week is optional, you can skip the lab if you don't need help getting things to work. You will have a full week before that to try to get the lab working on your own.
Attendance during the second week is mandatory. It will be when you will show course staff that your circuit is working, answer some questions and turn in the lab report. You will not receive help from course staff that second week, that is what the first week is for.

Code Guide Resistors are color coded in ohms, inductors in microH, and capacitors (with digits) in picoF.
