Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in computational science and engineering intended to augment the existing curriculum. See Class Schedule or departmental course information for topics and prerequisites. Course Information: 1 to 4 undergraduate hours. 1 to 4 graduate hours. May be repeated for a maximum of 6 hours in the same semester and up to 9 hours in separate semesters.

Section Description

Interdisciplinary Methods in Research Computing addresses technical and soft skills in managing computer-based research. Relevant to both technical and newly technical student researchers from disciplines across campus. This course will cover data management; process management and task automation; and research project management. Topics include data organization in spreadsheets, document revision control, data visualization, robust testing strategies, and reproducibility. Meets with IS 497 IM3, IS 497 IM4, and ENG 498 IM.
