Description: The Computing Startup Seminar provides a forum for those interested in translating computing research into impactful products. This weekly seminar will feature a series of speakers who have founded startups commercializing new computing technology, with discussion covering core steps in the process of building a startup as well as case studies. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from founders, network with speakers and other students, and get feedback on their ideas and plans.

Grading: To receive course credit, students should attend all the seminars and participate actively in the discussion. It is acceptable to miss up to 2 seminars if there are conflicts (e.g., for attending a conference). Students will be asked to complete a report/critique of the seminars at the end of the course, if participation in discussion was not frequent or clear. The report will be due the last day of the university final exam period.

Registration:Course sections depend on the degree program:

Note that to register at this point, students will have to submit a late registration form through the Graduate College portal; these will then be approved by the instructor for late registrations through September.
