Beams under lateral load and thrust; beams on elastic foundations; virtual work and energy principles; principles of solid mechanics, stress and strain in three dimensions; static stability theory; torsion; computational methods. Course Information: 3 undergraduate hours. 3 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: MATH 285 and TAM 251.
