AE 498 CS - AE System Safety Case Studies

Official Description
Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in aerospace engineering intended to augment the existing curriculum. See Class Schedule or department course information for topics and prerequisite. Course Information: 1 to 4 undergraduate hours. 1 to 4 graduate hours. May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary to a maximum of 9 undergraduate hours or 12 graduate hours.
Section Description
This course will meet virtually. Instructor will share additional details at the beginning of the semester. This course is an overview of key concepts in aerospace system safety via review of case studies. The case studies will review significant mishaps to identify gaps in the application of engineering principles, technical communication effectiveness, and organizational factors that resulted in the mishaps.
Prereq: AE 202 or consent of the Instructor
Undergraduate students should register for 3 credit hours.
Graduate students should register for 4 credit hour.
