Section Description
Introduction to CNC milling and turning using CAD/CAM software. The course will primarily focus on machining fundamentals and the manufacturing process starting at zero. The basic topics, in addition to CAM software, are speeds/feeds, tap/drill calculations, cutting tool selection, tool table/tool magazine setup, work coordinate setup, work probing, etc. The course is primarily hands-on, either CAM programming or hands-on with the machine. There is both individual and group work expected. Other than the listed prerequisite, no experience is necessary. **The course is not designed for individual and/or student group projects at this time** Prerequisite- AE 140 or equivalent CAD course Due to limited space, applications will be reviewed for selection.
